Meanwhile a Guinness World Record was obtained during the race, according to a news release, when 62 runners were tethered together by a long rope and karabiners attached to race belts to finish the race in six hours and 20 minutes to raise more than $108,000 for Jenny Crain, a runner who was severely injured in August 2007 after being hit by a car while she was training for the trials before the Beijing Olympics. Crain was with the group for the last .2 miles and was at the finish line, the release states.
