Waukesha Salvation Army Plans Full Week Of Events
The Waukesha Salvation Army counts on the Red Kettles to produce roughly a third of its income each year.

WAUKESHA, WI — Local community leaders from both Waukesha and Delafield joined Waukesha Salvation Army leadership, board members and volunteers at two locations to kick off the county charity’s annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign for Christmas 2017, and the second week of the drive is full of activities.
Corps officer, Major Nelson De La Vergne said, “We’re praying for individual, business, service club, church and foundation gifts totaling $800,000 to meet the needs that we have identified in Waukesha County in 2018.”
Red Kettle Campaign activities the week of November 13 include:- Driving bell ringers out to Red Kettle locations each morning at 9:30 a.m. for either half-day or full-day paid and volunteer shifts at nearly fifty locations countywide;
- Holding the Annual Holiday Bake Sale from 9am-5pm Friday at the downtown Waukesha State Bank.
- Serving hot chocolate and helping host the Waukesha Tree Lighting Friday evening at 6:00pm
- Having an entry in the downtown Waukesha Christmas Parade Sunday, Nov. 19 at 4:00pm
- Having posters printed ready for volunteers to distribute, for the December 14, 15 and 16 JOY OF CHRISTMAS benefit concerts. (There were two winners of a free pair of concert tickets at the weekend kick-off events. They are : David Hanson of Eagle, and Sandy Yates of Waukesha).

hungry, the homeless and others in-need. The county-based charity’s $1.5-million budget includes:
- Operating the largest homeless shelter for men in Waukesha County;
- Operating a large food pantry;
- Providing free hot meals for hundreds in its Waukesha dining hall, on three evenings each week;
- and, many more outreach, hunger and youth programs.
