Waukesha Woman Finds Drunk Stranger Asleep With Her Dog: Report

When a Waukesha woman found a drunk stranger asleep with her 150-pound mastiff, she called police.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Two Wisconsin residents — and a dog — got off to an unusual start to 2019, according to authorities in Waukesha.

According to police reports, the owner of a home on the 1900 block of Cardinal Drive came home just after 5 a.m. on New Year's Day to find a stranger in her house sleeping on the dog's bed.

What made the scene additionally unusual was that the man allegedly crawled into the dog's bed and fell asleep with her 150-pound mastiff.

Officers managed to rouse the man, who admitted to being "heavily intoxicated" after celebrating New Year's Eve out with friends.

He told police he accidentally entered the wrong house, after opening an unlocked side door and walking in, reports stated. The man told police he fell asleep with the owner's dog in the bed located in the living room.

Reports stated that the home owner didn't wish any criminal charges against the confused interloper — only to have him safely return home where he lives with his mother.
