United Way Connects the Community to Volunteer Opportunities

(March 12, 2014)—United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following volunteer opportunities:

Art Class Assistant – Waukesha
Do you enjoy the arts? Art class assistants are needed to lend a hand to students who have disabilities with art projects and provide whatever assistance is needed. The volunteer might work one on one with a particular person who needs attention or work with many different students. A commitment of at least 4 months is requested.

In-Kind Donation Volunteer - Hartland
Do you love couponing? Are you excited to find discounted and free goods and services? Then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! The National Multiple Sclerosis Society – WI Chapter is seeking a volunteer to assist with securing in kind donations to make our events possible! Help develop prospective in kind donor contact list and reach out to and secure local corporate goods and services donations.

Intake Screener for Tax Prep Program - Waukesha
As a volunteer tax preparer in La Casa de Esperanza’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, you will help low income individuals and families receive all the tax credits for which they’re eligible. VITA volunteers provide free e-filing of Federal & State tax return preparation, using an online system called Taxwise. VITA volunteers become IRS-Certified! Each volunteer receives free tax training and are supported by VITA site staff at all times.
Monkeying Around - WaukeshaAssist or lead a group of 15-20 girls grades 1-3. Swing and sway your way through this monkey adventure. Assist girls as they build and program a robot monkey to play the drums, take the banana zip line challenge and join in monkey games. Event sessions March 29th and May 3rd. 

Office Assistant - Waukesha
The Waukesha Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department is looking for a volunteer to help with office filing, copying documents and organizing paperwork. The work will be needed twice per month and last for a few hours. If interested we can discuss the times and dates that work for your schedule.The Volunteer should be at least 18 years of age. They will be required to pass a background check and have some basic office organizational skills.
