Wisconsin Voters Feel Better About Trump Than Foxconn Plant: Poll

Voters in Wisconsin feel better about Donald Trump than the state's investment in the Foxconn plant, according to a Marquette poll.

MILWAUKEE, WI — More voters in Wisconsin say they feel better about Donald Trump than the Foxconn Electronics plant he says he helped to bring here.

According to a new Marquette University Law School poll, voters in Wisconsin are divided in their opinions on the value of the Foxconn electronics plant that is now being built in Racine County. According to the poll, 38 percent of voters this that the plant will provide at least as much value when compared to the state's investment. A big chunk of that investment comes with a $3 billion incentive package.

Voters' views on President Trump are slightly better when compared with their perception of Foxconn's value to the state. 43 percent of voters in the Marquette Poll said that they approve of the president, which is up from 41 percent in June 2017. Views of the president are sharply divided along party lines with 89 percent of Republicans approving of the president while only nine percent of Democrats think he's doing a good job.

It should be noted, 57 percent of voters believe that the Foxconn plant will substantially improve the local economies of Racine, Kenosha and Milwaukee counties. The plant will eventually provide up to 13,000 new jobs to the area, and analysts say will result in supply-chain related businesses to move to the area.
