Woman Crashed Into Power Pole, Fled Scene: Report

Police reported that power lines were downed as a result of the crash.

WAUKESHA, WI — Police in Waukesha say they caught up with a hit-and-run driver after she crashed into a power pole early Friday morning.

According to Waukesha police call logs, officers responded to the 700 block of Sentry Drive at just after midnight on Aug. 30 for a report of a driver who crashed into a power pole, and fled the scene.

Police reported that power lines were downed as a result of the crash and that the woman fled west on Sunset immediately after the crash.

Police said the driver, a 34-year-old Waukesha woman, drove back home following the crash. Police reported finding the woman's black GMC Acadia parked at her home just after midnight.

Police say she was taken into custody on suspicion of drunken driving.
