Woman Helps Fellow Shopper Elude Stalker At Target: Report

WAUKESHA, WI -- A woman came to the aid of a fellow shopper Wednesday night at the Waukesha Target. Waukesha police were called to the target just after 7 p.m. on a report of a suspicious person.

According to police reports, a person called police, saying that she saw a man following closely behind another shopper, when the shopper, who was also a woman, suddenly turned to her and mouthed the word "help."

The woman who was being followed pretended to know the other woman, and acted like they were friends, the report stated.

Sensing that something was wrong, the woman invited the other woman into her vehicle for her safety. The man who had been following her and commenting on her appearance, saw what was happening and walked back into Target and wasn't seen again, according to reports.

Police are investigating the incident, after checking the store for the suspect to no avail.
