Woman Inside Calls Police On Crowbar Burglar Outside: Police

Police say a resident on the 100 block of Douglass Ave. called 911 after seeing a woman trying to break in with a crowbar

WAUKESHA, WI — Waukesha police took a female burglary suspect into custody early Thursday after the person inside called police about the person who was trying to break in.

Waukesha police responded to a home on the 100-block of Douglass Ave. just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday on a report of a burglary in progress.

Waukesha Police told Patch.com that a 911 caller said a woman who was not known to them was trying to use a crowbar to break through a window to break in. The 911 caller also said the woman came to the front door and was pounding on the door to get in. The 911 caller also said there was a white sedan parked in front of her home that was unfamiliar to them.

When police arrived, they saw a woman standing on the front porch of the home. Police made contact with her, and determined she was the person who was trying to break into the house. Police reported she was arrested without incident.

Her name is being withheld until she is formally charged, police said.
