Woman Said 'Lookalike' Led Police On High-Speed Chase : Report

A woman is reporting that someone who looks "just like her" must have led police on a high-speed chase through Waukesha.

WAUKESHA, WI — A 37-year-old Waukesha woman says she was not the person who led officers on a high-speed chase through Waukesha over the Memorial Day weekend.

According to police reports, on the morning of May 25, a woman later identified as Dianna Warchol, fled police just after 11:30 a.m. reaching speeds of up to 85 miles per hour.

Reports stated that the pursuit went on Summit Ave., Grandview Blvd., and St. Paul Ave. as she drove recklessly and failed to obey traffic signals and stop signs.

According to a Journal Sentinel report Monday, police said the vehicle was an Enterprise rental car that was picked up by a man and loaned to Warchol.

From there, the story gets more complicated as Warchol said she drove the rental car to Walgreens, only to park it on the former Gasthaus parking lot. From there, she told police she left the car there and hopped into another car that drove her back to her father's house.

The Journal Sentinel reported that police went looking for Warchol after the man who rented the car said it went missing. When police found Warchol, she told police that the rental vehicle was stolen from its spot in front of the old Gasthaus site and that someone who looked just like her must have taken it.

According to court records, Warchol faces charges of fleeing and eluding an officer and operating a vehicle with a revoked license.
