Wausau's Concerts on the Square Return Wednesday (wsau.com) — Downtown Wausau’s Concerts on the Square kick off tonight at 6 p.m. on the 400 Block with Wisconsin cover band The Now, starting a 13-week summer series. Organizers say construction near the Grand Theater won’t change the familiar setup, and attendees can bring carry-ins, enjoy food trucks, and reserve lawn spots—just wait until after 4 p.m. if you’re using a blanket.

Trial in Wausau attempted homicide case from 2023 delayed again (waow.com) — A major Wausau attempted homicide case has been delayed again after one of the defendant’s attorneys was elected to the bench, forcing a change in legal representation. The accused, who allegedly shot a man during a drug deal and fled the state, remains jailed on a high bond while a new schedule is set.

4. D.C. Everest Junior High honored for efforts to promote inclusion (wausaudailyherald.com) — Students at D.C. Everest Junior High in Weston, which serves many Wausau-area families, have earned top honors in the Unified 2026 Challenge for their work promoting inclusion. Through Special Olympics Wisconsin’s Unified Champion Schools program, their Unified Pals group led events in unified sports, youth leadership, and whole-school engagement, and the school will receive $250 to support future inclusive activities.

5. Sheboygan Man Reaches Plea Deal for Solicitation of Prostitutes, Threatening Law Enforcement (waow.com) — A criminal case handled in Wausau has ended with a Sheboygan man receiving three years in prison and three years of supervision after pleading guilty to soliciting a prostitute, threatening law enforcement, and not paying for services. More serious charges tied to an alleged knifepoint assault were reduced, while some counts were dismissed but read in, and he must avoid contact with the victim and complete anger management.
