Ascension to close Wisconsin Heart Hospital in Wauwatosa Next Month
The hospital opened in Wauwatosa in 2006, and became part of Ascension Health in February.

WAUWATOSA -- The Wisconsin Heart Hospital in Wauwatosa will close in early July after a decade during which it lost money in most years and posted only marginal profits in its best years, according to a report by the Journal Sentinel.
The hospital opened in Wauwatosa 2006.
Known as the Midwest Spine and Orthopedic Hospital and Wisconsin Heart Hospital since 2013, the Heart Hospital is part of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare's operations in southeastern Wisconsin, the Journal Sentinel report said.

It became part of Ascension Health in February. Ascension is the nation's largest nonprofit health system and the parent of Columbia St. Mary's and Ministry Health in Wisconsin.
