Car Smashes Into Home Of Recovering Heart Surgery Patient: Police
A man recovering from heart surgery this week was greeted by an unusual knock at the door Thursday: a speeding Acura
WAUWATOSA, WI — A Wauwatosa resident who is recovering from heart surgery at his home near 60th St. and Wells got an unexpected visitor Thursday morning after the driver of a gray Acura raced up the home's front walk, collided with the home's front door and became lodged in the home's foyer.
The home's front door was blown off its hinges as the vehicle splintered wood, cracked plaster walls and forced a gaping hole in the home's brick exterior.
According to a media report Friday, a relative of the homeowner - who did not want to be identified - is staying with the family until repairs can be made. "It was crazy! I was driving my little one to school and saw the commotion -- the police, the ambulance, the fire trucks," neighbor Jess Koerner said to FOX 6.

The Wauwatosa Fire Department said that nobody was hurt, but that the home suffered serious damage. Fire officials said the crash was caused by an apparent mechanical issue with the car related to a stuck accelerator.
According to a FOX6 report, a witness on the scene said the car stopped before hitting a staircase just inside the front door of the building. Damage to the structure could be as much as $100,000 because the car damaged structural beams, plumbing, electrical and more.
