Family Of 5 Beaten In Brutal Overnight Home Invasion: Report
A mother and 5-year-old were hospitalized for head injuries after a family of 5 was held hostage in Wauwatosa. Police searching for suspects

WAUWATOSA, WI β Police in Wauwatosa are searching for two suspects who staged a home invasion and held a family hostage.
According to Wauwatosa Police, police the incident began at 8:30 p.m. Thursday when officers reported that two suspects broke into a duplex on the 1200 block of North 116th Street.
According to a report published Friday by the Journal Sentinel, two suspects armed with handguns attempted to stage a robbery during the evening of July 12.

Police said that a family of five was held hostage - four adults and a five-year-old child. Reports stated that the mother of the child and the child were transported to the hospital with head injuries following the home invasion. According to a WISN report, all five people were beaten during the course of the home invasion.
By 12:30 a.m., a person inside managed to call the police. By the time police arrived, the attackers had already left.

Wauwatosa Police Captain Brian Zalewski said that work was being done inside the house and that the suspects had "some interaction" with the strangers who were in the home.
Police have yet to make arrests in this case and have yet to release further information about the incident.
Police are asking the public that anyone who witnessed anything or has information should call Wauwatosa Police Department at 414-471-8430.
