Former Wauwatosa East Associate Principal Charged: Report
The former Wauwatosa East Associate Principal faces two charges after police say he inappropriately touched three girls in his office.

WAUWATOSA, WI -- Authorities say former Wauwatosa East High School Associate Principal Rob Day has been formally charged in court following an investigation into whether he inappropriately touched three female students.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, Day has been charged with two counts of disorderly conduct, and could face up to six months behind bars if he is convicted.
According to the complaint, a Wauwatosa Police Department officer who served as a school resource officer at Wauwatosa Middle School spoke with an 18-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl, and also a 10-year-old girl in an investigation into claims that Day engaged in inappropriate touching.

The 18-year-old girl told the investigating office that Day inappropriately touched her during her sophomore year at the school. She was called in to Day's office during the 2016-17 school year for an unspecified reason. She said she remembered several instances in which Day inappropriately touched her during her time at Wauwatosa East, according to the criminal complaint.
Investigators also say Day inappropriately touched the 10-year-old girl multiple times beginning in 2015. According to the criminal complaint, the 15-year-old girl said Day inappropriately touched her while she was putting items into her backpack in Day's office.

Police say all three girls told the investigating officer that Day's actions made them extremely uncomfortable and at times caused them to fear for their bodily safety.
A police detective who spoke on the record with Day on Nov. 7 said he admitted to speaking with the three girls mentioned in the criminal complaint, but did not admit to doing anything specific that he considered inappropriate.
District officials say Day resigned after he was been put on leave pending an investigation in late October. District officials are not saying the reasons behind the investigation into Day's apparent conduct.
"I want to let you know that Associate Principal Rob Day has resigned from his position at East High School and as an employee of the Wauwatosa School District," Wauwatosa Superintendent Phil Ertl wrote in a letter from his office. "The District's internal investigation is complete and given it is a protected personnel matter, we do not have additional information to share."
District officials declined to answer questions as to the nature of the investigation, or the findings with regards to Day. Wauwatosa Patch reached out to the Wauwatosa Police Department in November, however officials there would not confirm whether the department was involved in any investigation related to Day.
According to a WISN 12 report, Ertl also sent a letter home to district parents in November, saying Day was put on non-disciplinary administrative leave pending an external investigation.
