GMO-Free Bakery Proposed For Wauwatosa

The Appleseed Bakery will specialize in foods that are prepared without genetically modified organisms.

WAUWATOSA, WI — Wauwatosa officials are reviewing a proposal for a new bakery that specializes in goods that are GMO-free.

According to a Milwaukee Business Journal article Monday, the Wauwatosa Plan Commission is reviewing plans for the Appleseed Bakery to occupy the former Peet's Coffee shop at 418 N. Mayfair Road.

According to the report, owner Lula Allen said the bakery will be a destination where mothers can buy food for their children - knowing that all the ingredients are safe. Gluten-free and vegan items would also be for sale.
