Kids' Activities Served with a Side of Fresh Veggies at Farmer's Market

Tosa Farmer's Market holds first Children's Day, with art, music, skating and more.

As if freshly harvested spinach and crunchy radishes weren’t enough to make your kids want to visit local farmers’ stands, this weekend Tosa Farmer’s Market is bringing in art, storytellers and skateboarding.

The market is hosting its first Children’s Day on Saturday, with activities and prize drawings geared toward families and kids of all ages.

Director Karen McNeely says the Farmer’s Market will offer numerous family-centered activities. Among them is the popular and well-traveled Kohl’s Color Wheels.

β€œThis is our first year doing a Children’s Day,” McNeely said. β€œWe were very fortunate to be able to get the Kohl’s Color Wheels to come to the market for the day, which prompted us to brainstorm about what other community-based children’s activities we could plan around it to make it a really special day for kids in Wauwatosa.”

Kohl’s Color Wheels, a mobile art van that appears at festivals and events throughout Milwaukee during the summer, will be at the market from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The cart brings free art projects appealing to budding artists of all ages.
