Library Selling Hundreds of Books This Weekend

The Wauwatosa Public Library hopes to sell hundreds of books, DVDs, VHS tapes and cassette tapes on Saturday and Sunday.

The 's is this weekend, offering hundreds of used books, DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes and cassette tapes for prices that are hard to beat.

Every item will go for $1 each, except paperback books, which wil be 50 cents each. On Sunday, patrons can take a full bag of books for $2.

Wauwatosa Public Library Assistant Director Robert Trunley said most of the books were donated to the library, and others have been withdrawn from the library's connection – either because a collection has been updated or the public seems to have lost interest in it.

"There's a lot of adult fiction books that were once popular 20 years ago, and now they're not popular," Trunley. "Somebody might pick it up and give it a second life."

The books sales, which happen once every spring and fall, are fundraisers for the library. Trunley said they generally make about $3,000 from the sales.
