Mass Emergency Drill Thursday Planned For Wauwatosa

During the exercise, there will be an increase in police and fire personnel on campus, particularly around the Behavioral Health Complex.

WAUWATOSA, WI -- If you see more police in the area Thursday, it's because local law enforcement agencies and first-responders will be conducting a large-scale training drill in Wauwatosa.

On Thursday October 11, 2018, the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center will be conducting an emergency preparedness exercise. This will be a large scale training drill involving all of the organizations on the MRMC campus, Wisconsin Lutheran College and local police and fire departments.

During the exercise, there will be an increase in police and fire personnel on campus, particularly around the Behavioral Health Complex, 9501 Watertown Plank Rd. There will be no traffic disruptions and there will be signs posted stating that training is in progress.

The Milwaukee Regional Medical Center member organizations conduct several disaster exercises every year. This emphasizes the ongoing commitment to continued training and preparation for employees and first responders to effectively respond to an actual, large-scale public health or public safety emergency.
