Mayfair Mexican Restaurant, Wine Bar Plans in Jeopardy

WAUWATOSA, WI — Plans to build two new restaurants at Mayfair Mall have been put on hold by Wauwatosa officials after a plan to raze a 10-story office building on the Mayfair campus raised some eyebrows.

According to a Milwaukee Business Journal report restaurants Uncle Julio's and Seasons 52 are intending to build new stand-alone restaurants on the Mayfair Mall campus on the site of the Mayfair Bank Tower - which has been vacant and considered for redevelopment.

Both restaurants will be the first of their kind in Wisconsin, according to the Business Journal.
Uncle Julio's is an upscale Mexican restaurant. Seasons 52 is considered a grill and wine bar.

According to a report from North Shore Now, Wauwatosa officials want to see what the developer of the project will come up with in order to replace the tower.

"Before we approve low-density projects we want to see that (the developer) is going to replace the density," Alderman Joel Tilleson said in the North Shore Report.
