North Avenue Grill Expanding, Work Begins Monday

Although the construction will make way for a larger restaurant, there's something else you should know ...

WAUWATOSA — The North Avenue Grill in Wauwatosa, 7225 W. North Ave., is more than doubling the number of seats at nearly tripling the size of its kitchen.

That's good news for people who enjoy North Avenue Grill's classic diner fare, all-day breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches and their popular Friday night fish fry.

Now here's the bad news.

According to a Journal Sentinel article published late Wednesday, the bad news for its loyal customers is that it will be closed for about five weeks for construction, starting Monday.

Expanding into the space next door to North Avenue Grill, which is a former laundry, will allow the restaurant to grow to 75 seats indoors from 35; with seasonal outdoor seating, it will have room for 100.
