Blue Door Academy now in all Wauwatosa School District elementaries (jsonline.com) — Families in the Wauwatosa School District now have a new, more affordable option for before-school, after-school, and junior kindergarten wraparound care through Blue Door Academy at all 10 elementary schools. The Boys and Girls Clubs–run program accepts Wisconsin Shares subsidies, offers scholarships and staff discounts, and already serves about 600 children with flexible enrollment choices and detailed weekly pricing.
   

2. Wauwatosa council approves $95K settlement with ex-officer Joseph Mensah over PTSD claim (wtmj.com) — Wauwatosa's Common Council has unanimously approved a $95,000 workers' compensation settlement for former police officer Joseph Mensah, to be paid from the city's workers' comp fund. The deal follows his PTSD-related disability claim tied to several past on-duty shootings, including the 2020 Mayfair Mall incident that drew large protests in Wauwatosa.
   

3. EHD outbreak in Wisconsin also has affected dairy heifers, captive deer (madison.com) — An unprecedented outbreak of epizootic hemorrhagic disease has killed at least 1,700 deer in southeastern Wisconsin, including a deer found dead along the Menomonee River in Wauwatosa. State officials say the virus, now confirmed in multiple counties, has also reached captive deer and dairy heifers, and they're tracking hundreds of additional suspected cases as the situation evolves.
   

4. Wauwatosa Froedtert Hospital parking structure fire, 1 injured (fox6now.com) — Emergency crews responded Wednesday to a vehicle fire in a Froedtert Hospital parking structure in Wauwatosa, where flames spread to nine cars and one person was injured and self-transported to the ER. Wauwatosa firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, searched the garage for anyone else inside, and are still investigating what caused the fire.
