Police Catch Wauwatosa Qdoba Armed Robbery Suspects: Report

Wauwatosa police said that tips from members of the community made the difference.

WAUWATOSA, WI — Police in Wauwatosa say that two armed robbery suspects are now behind bars, thanks to members of the public who submitted tips to investigators last week.

"We received numerous tips from individuals who saw the story on various media outlets and recognized the suspects," Captain Brian E. Zalewski of the Wauwatosa Police Department, said to Patch.

Zaleweski said that two 17-year-olds were arrested Friday afternoon and are awaiting charges from the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office.

The Incident

Wauwatosa police said a woman was robbed at gunpoint by two men in the parking lot outside of the Qdoba restaurant at 418 N. Mayfair Road on Monday, May 27, at about 6:20 p.m.

Police said the two men forced the woman to drive them to the area of W. Capitol Drive and N. 79th Street in Milwaukee, where they fled on foot after stealing a cell phone and other personal items belonging to the woman.

Police said at the time that one man was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun similar to a Glock. One man told the woman that his name was Rat Man Rich. Police said the other man told the woman that his name was Chopper.
