Wauwatosa Police Arrest Subway Armed Robbers: Report

Wauwatosa police say they arrested three people from Milwaukee: a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and a 20-year-old woman.

WAUWATOSA, WI -- Police in Wauwatosa say they arrested two teens and a 20-year-old who are accused of four Subway sub shop armed robberies in both the Wauwatosa and Milwaukee areas.

Police say that on the night of Sep. 17, officers responded to an armed robbery that had just took place at the Subway Restaurant, 10940 W. Capitol Dr. Police say that a silver-and-black handgun was displayed by one of the robbers as they held up the cashier. Police say they fled in a vehicle and were not located.

Two days later, at just before 6:30 p.m., police reported that there was another armed robbery at a Subway — this time at the restaurant located at 12227 W. North Ave. Wauwatosa Police, along with members of the Milwaukee Police Department, were in the area conducting surveillance when the robbery occurred.

Police said it didn't take long before officers arrested two men after a foot chase. Police said that one of the robbers threw away a facsimile firearm, which turned out to be a BB gun, as he was running from police. Police recovered that gun.

Wauwatosa police say they arrested three people from Milwaukee: a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and a 20-year-old woman who police say was the getaway driver.

Police say these same three people are also responsible for two more Subway restaurants in Milwaukee. All four cases are being referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office for formal charging.
