Woman Jumps Onto SUV To Stop Car Theft, Succeeds: Report

The woman jumped onto the corner of her car and held on, making eye contact with one of the car thieves while also screaming. ​

WAUWATOSA, WI -- It can only take a few seconds for a car thief to steal an unlocked - or running vehicle. One Wauwatosa resident learned that the hard way this week after authorities in Wauwatosa say a woman jumped onto her SUV in an attempt to prevent it from being stolen from her own driveway.

According to a CBS 58 report, the brazen move frightened the two suspects away.

Wauwtosa resident Katie Diederich said she was going to pick up her son from school at 3 p.m. on Monday. She went back inside to get something, only to notice that her SUV was starting to roll back out of the driveway - with somebody else inside. Diederich said she jumped onto the corner of her car and held on, making eye contact with one of the car thieves while also screaming.
