1. Beyond School Walls program completes inaugural school year (gmtoday.com) — Big Brothers Big Sisters’ Beyond School Walls mentoring program just wrapped its first year in West Bend, pairing local high schoolers with professionals from West Bend Insurance and Quad Graphics. With strong feedback from both students and mentors, the group is expanding for 2026-27 and is actively seeking West Bend-area businesses, sophomores, and juniors to join the next round.

2. Faehling upwards: West Bend West senior shines at sectional (gmtoday.com) — West Bend West athletes made a big statement at the Beaver Dam sectional, with senior hurdler and sprinter Rylee Faehling leading multiple state-qualifying performances and relay wins. Several Spartans, along with nearby Slinger, Hartford, and Germantown standouts, punched tickets to the WIAA state track meet in La Crosse after a night of record-breaking times and dramatic photo-finishes.

3. DWD Awards Over $2 Million in Wisconsin Fast Forward Training Grants (wisconsin.gov) — More than 200 workers at West Bend-based Regal Ware/West Bend Company will receive state-funded training in safety, quality, and lean manufacturing through a $110,944 Wisconsin Fast Forward grant. The broader program is sending over $2.4 million to 17 employers statewide to upskill more than 1,000 workers in key industries and boost wages.

4. Scouting America presents awards to local leaders (gmtoday.com) — A West Bend resident, Scout leader Andrew Bublitz, was among several adult volunteers honored for their service to Scouting at a recent recognition event in Cedarburg. The awards highlighted leaders from Mequon and Cedarburg packs and troops, and noted Scouting America’s ongoing role in youth leadership development across the region.
