UW-Whitewater gets $225K to build regional emergency operations center (wkow.com) — UW-Whitewater is receiving $225,000 in federal funding to build a new, high-tech Emergency Operations Center on campus that will serve the City of Whitewater and surrounding counties. Local officials say the center will provide resilient communications, backup power, and space for coordinated response so the community can better withstand and recover from major emergencies.

2. Tuition slated to increase at UW campuses for fourth year in a row (fdlreporter.com) — UW-Whitewater students would see in-state tuition and fees rise to $8,984 next year, a $166 increase under a new UW System proposal. The plan, which the Board of Regents votes on June 4, would raise in-state undergraduate costs about 2% across campuses to help fund employee raises and other expenses after years of frozen tuition.

Twenty-Six Named To CSC Academic All-District® Baseball Team (wiacsports.com) — Several UW-Whitewater baseball players have earned spots on the 2026 CSC Academic All-District Team, highlighting both their performance on the field and in the classroom. The honor recognizes WIAC student-athletes with strong grades and major roles on their teams, putting Warhawk standouts alongside peers from campuses across Wisconsin.

Crews searching Rock River for missing person, search to resume Wednesday (wkow.com) — Whitewater Surface Water Rescue equipment is part of a large multi-agency effort searching the Rock River in Jefferson County for a person who went into the water and hasn’t been found. Dive teams and specialized boats will resume recovery operations Wednesday morning, with responders from several nearby communities assisting.
