Today's riddle: What do evil hens lay? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Street repairs, public safety top Casper's 1% tax funding priorities (oilcity.news) — Casper's 1% optional sales tax priorities are now set, with residents' top choice—street repairs, drainage and flood prevention—getting the largest share of future revenue. Public safety, parks and culture, city facilities, and community transit services like LINK and ASSIST will also see significant investment, shaping how millions in tax dollars improve daily life across Casper over the next four years.
2. 2026 primary election: Hobza tops Bell as both Casper Council Ward I candidates advance (oilcity.news) — Casper voters in Ward I have advanced both Brett Hobza and Jessie Bell to November's general election for the open City Council seat, with Hobza leading the primary. Each candidate is emphasizing housing affordability while offering different approaches to fiscal policy, public safety, and cultural development that could shape Casper's neighborhoods and business climate.
3. Where PMHNPs Are Most Needed: The Highest-Demand States in 2026 (nurse.org) — Casper is one of three Wyoming cities that together employ more than half of the state's psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners, leaving many rural areas with little or no access to care. A new workforce report explains why statewide demand is so high, how full practice authority helps NPs, and where opportunities are greatest for providers considering work in Wyoming.
4. $5.2 million commitment will expand and enhance stroke care across Wyoming (heart.org) — A new $5.2 million Mission: Lifeline Stroke Wyoming initiative will strengthen stroke care statewide, with Casper's nationally certified stroke center playing a key role. Over three years, hospitals in Casper and beyond will upgrade EMS coordination, telestroke services, and rehab networks so patients here can reach specialized treatment faster and have a better shot at full recovery.
