President Walter Tribley says strong state support, efficiencies, and enrollment growth leave the college in solid shape, with funding also set aside to advance the new Sheridan College Johnson County building.

Resurrecting countywide consensus funding program could help offset infrastructure costs (wyomingnews.com) — State lawmakers are weighing a revived countywide consensus funding program that could steer millions toward Sheridan County infrastructure, including long-delayed water projects. Sheridan County Commission Chair Christi Haswell says longer timelines to use state grants are crucial, citing Gulch Road residents’ long-running water quality problems and a lost construction season after a federal shutdown.

3. Sheridan WYO Rodeo Board: Carnival and Vendors (sheridanmedia.com subscription) — Families in Sheridan can look forward to the WYO Rodeo carnival returning to the Sheridan County Fairgrounds July 8–11, running from 5 p.m. to midnight. Organized by board member Austin Reutzel and Dreamland Carnival Company, the midway will feature rides, games, and food vendors that complement the PRCA rodeo, Indian Relay races, and other Rodeo Week traditions residents enjoy.

4. Lawrence Small (sheridanmedia.com) — Longtime Sheridan resident Lawrence “Larry” Small, a 1956 Sheridan High graduate and Navy veteran, built a life of service, coaching, and entrepreneurship that many locals will remember. After running Small’s Ice Cream Shop in Kendrick Park, he and his family operated seven Burger King restaurants in Sheridan and other Wyoming towns before selling in 2005; he requested cremation and no service.
