DA: Temecula Man Played Major Role in Beaumont's $43 Million Public Corruption Case
The Temecula resident is facing a series of embezzlement charges related to the case. His bail was set at $5 million.

TEMECULA, CA- A Temecula man is facing 16 years in prison in connection to a public corruption case stemming from the Riverside County city of Beaumont, District Attorney officials announced this week.
As officials from the DA's office fanned out across the county on Tuesday, simultaneously arresting a total of six men they accused in a massive $43 million corruption case, 62-year-old David William Dillon was not immune. The Temecula man was arrested shortly after 9 a.m. at his local residence, and taken over to the Southwest Detention Center, where he was booked on several felony counts of embezzlement.
There he remained for less than a day— posting his whopping $5 million bail, according to jail records.

Dillon's connection to the alleged scheme is a complicated one, but in short, the District Attorney's office says he and two other men were pulling levers that ultimately resulted in losses totaling $42.96 million for the municipality.
Dillon was not only a principal at Urban Logic Consultants, with whom the city contracted much of its developmental work, but he was also the city's planning director. The DA's office says he would advise the city to issue new bonds, while at the same time making payments to his own company from the bond sales. Dillon was charged Tuesday by the District Attorney's office with six counts of embezzlement of public funds and one count of conflict of interest. The DA's office says that should he be convicted as currently charged, Dillion is looking at 16 years in prison. Others in the case face up to 26 years behind bars.
