It's 3 Tractor-Trailer Fires In 3 Months For Tolland Firefighters

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland firefighters responded to their third tractor trailer-fire in as many months the same area of Interstate-84 on Wednesday.

The latest broke out at about 6 p.m. At the Exit 68 off ramp on the westbound side of the highway. Delays stretched up to Exit 69 while firefighters put out the fire, officials said.

In mid-April, on I-84 eastbound, just prior to Exit 69, state police extinguished most of a fire contained to the "inside wheels" of a tractor-trailer. A fire crew finished the job.

In late March, the rear end of a tractor-trailer burst into flames on I-84 eastbound, between Exits 67 and 68, fire officials said. The right two lanes were closed while crews worked the scene.
