In another high-profile case of a Montgomery County Police officer hit by a drunk-driving suspect, a Gaithersburg man was sentenced to prison Thursday for hitting and injuring an officer.

According to the Montgomery County Police Department, Lennwood Saunders, 35, of Flagger Drive in Gaithersburg, was sentenced to three years for driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled dangerous substance-cocaine. >>> Read more.

A former Washington, D.C., police officer and pastor from Upper Marlboro was sentenced Friday on charges of child pornography and sex abuse of a minor, part of a plea deal that kept the young victims from having to appear in court.

Darrell Best, a former member of the Metropolitan Police Department, pleaded guilty in October to one count of production of child pornography, one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor, and one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. >>> Read more.
