Utility customers are at an increased risk of being scammed during the holidays, warn BGE officials, who routinely see an uptick in schemes at this time of year. Scammers are trying to trick customers into providing personal or financial information and making false payments.

Movie legend Sophia Loren will be appearing in Rockville this week for an intimate onstage discussion and audience Q&A. Montgomery College is hosting the two-day event, called "An Evening with Sophia Loren," on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sears Closing Store In This Maryland Mall
Sears will be closing in a Maryland mall in 2020, a representative for the iconic but struggling retailer said. Liquidation sales will begin shortly, and the closure will happen in the early part of the new year.
Another Dog Shot By PGPD Officer: Police
For the third time in just a few months, an officer has shot a dog in Prince George's County following an attack, police say. Animal Control called police to a neighborhood in Suitland for help after one of two dogs was caught on camera killing a cat.
