New High School Officially Opens This Week

Students move in on Tuesday, teachers and administrators on Monday.

A little more than two years from when construction began, the new Wilmington High School is set to have its classrooms filled for the first time this week.

The Friday before February school vacation week was the last day of classes in the old school before students move in this week.

On Sunday, the community came together to show its Wildcat Pride a day before teachers and administrators get unpacked and settled into the new school on Monday.

While the school construction is complete, there’s still more work to be done including work on the baseball field, multipurpose field, parking lot, and the tennis/basketball courts - all are expected to be completed by the end of the 2015 calendar year.
