U.S. News Ranks Briarcliff High School as One of the Best in Westchester

Another judgement is out on the top high schools in New York State as U.S. News & World Report released its rankings Tuesday.

Briarcliff High School is among them.

The latest rankings, released Tuesday, put the school at No. 31 in New York State and No. 212 in the country.

Rankings are based on student to teacher ratios, college readiness with regard to Advanced Placement exam scores, and proficiency in mathematics and English.

Of the 74 percent of Briarcliff High School students who take AP exams, 65 percent of them pass, according to the report. About 99 percent of students are proficient in math and 97 percent are proficient in English.

The school has a 11:1 student to teacher ratio.

There were 439 New York high schools that made the rankings.
