Car Parked in Front of Wainscott Home Bursts Into Flames
Firefighters put out the fire before it reached the house.

A Wainscott home almost caught on fire when a fire broke out in a van parked in front it on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report in The East Hampton Star.
The Brideghampton Fire Department responded to a call of a car fire shortly before 1 p.m. at at Townline Road, according to the report.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the van was engulfed in flames and before engines arrived, they used a garden hose on the side of the house to prevent it from catching fire, according to the report. The flames avoided the house thanks to the direction of the wind, according to the report.
