Police Investigate 'Unintentional Discharge of Firearm' Sunday Night

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- Is Alexandria turning into the Wild West? Another “inadvertent shooting” has taken place, according to police.

Police said on social media Sunday night at about 9:30 p.m., that they were investigating an “unintentional discharge of firearm” in the 1000 block of N. Royal Street (see map below). Police say there were no injuries.

Earlier this month, on Sunday, Jan. 3, police reported that a drunk man accidentally shot himself in the foot, in the 1000 block of Cameron Street.

In November, a man “inadvertently” shot himself in Old Town, police reported. That incident took place at King and Pitt streets.

There was no information released by police on whether any charges were filed in any of the cases.
