'Inadvertent' Shooting Friday in Alexandria
Police say a man 'inadvertently shot himself' in Old Town.
The Alexandria Police Department is handling an incident Friday in Old Town, where a person inadvertently shot himself in the side of his body, at King and Pitt streets (see map below).
Police say the man’s injury is not life-threatening and no one else was injured. Police say to expect activity in the area as they investigate the shooting.
Police sent out an alert about the incident at 4:37 p.m. Friday.
