Drunk Man Accidentally Shoots His Own Foot: Police

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an incident Sunday night involving an intoxicated man who apparently shot his own foot, according to police.

The incident took place about a block off of King Street (see map below).

Here’s the alert sent out Sunday at 8:40 p.m. from the Alexandria Police Department:

The Alexandria Police Department is investigating an unintentional discharge of a firearm in the 1000 block of Cameron Street. An intoxicated subject shot his own foot; it is non-life-threatening. Expect police activity in the area.

No report from police on the extent of the injury or whether the man faces charges. In November, a man “inadvertently” shot himself in Old Town, police reported. That incident took place at King and Pitt streets.
