ā¢ Work begins to repair infrastructure on Strain Road (whnt.com) ā Flood-prone residents along East Strain Road in Athens are finally seeing long-awaited drainage work begin, with city crews installing new culverts and pipes after years of sewage backups and property damage. Mayor Ronnie Marks says the long-delayed project, backed by ARPA design funds and $4.5 million in ADEM support, will continue up to Hickory Street, with the west side of Strain Road next in line.
