The artwork honors tribal history from school desegregation to traditional crafts, blending tribal colors with local plants and animals to celebrate the community’s culture on its ancestral land. 
• Fred Carlton Ward, Jr. : NorthEscambia.com (northescambia.com) — Longtime Atmore resident Fred Carlton Ward Jr., 58, has passed away, with funeral services set for Friday, June 5, at Friendly Holiness Church and burial at New Home Cemetery. Remembered for his humor, love of family, and passion for dirt track racing, he leaves behind children, siblings in Atmore and Poarch, and many extended relatives and friends.
