32 More COVID-19 Deaths, Nearly 2,000 New Cases In Alabama

The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed nearly 2,000 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama Department of Public Health added nearly 2,000 new COVID-19 cases to its statewide total Friday, and 32 more deaths from the virus. Alabama's total number of COVID-19 deaths now sits at 1,232.

The ADPH reported 1,953 new cases of COVID-19 Friday, bringing the total in the state to 62,111 cases of the virus, with 19,997 confirmed in the last two weeks.

Jefferson County again showed a significant number of new cases Friday, reporting nearly 300 new cases. Mobile and Madison counties were also in triple digits.

  • Jefferson County: 296 new cases; 8,105 total
  • Mobile County: 199 new cases; 5,713 total
  • Madison County: 175 new cases; 3,148 total
  • Baldwin County: 90 new cases; 1,669 total
  • Shelby County: 83 new cases; 2,055 total
