The week of December 10-15 included more news on the EJ Bradford case, and some big news for UAB football.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - For UAB football fans, this past week was a bog one in regard to local headlines. Not only did head coach Bill Clark receive Coach of the Year honors by multiple organizations, but ground was broken on the Blazers' new football stadium downtown. These were just a couple of the stories that made headlines during the week.

Ground was officially broken on the 45,000-seat stadium next to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex. The UAB Department of Athletics and the BJCC have finalized a lease that is anticipated to begin during the 2021 football season.
As if winning back-to-back state titles was not enough, Pinson Valley quarterback Bo Nix may take home some more hardware before his senior year is finished. Nix is one of five finalists for the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year.
UAB football coach Bill Clark was already gaining respect and notoriety last season when he took the Blazers to a bowl game in the team's first season back from a two-year hiatus. But the 2018 season has seen Clark pile up the accolades after UAB captured its first conference title.
4-Year-Old Child Wounded In Birmingham Shooting
A four-year-old child was hospitalized after being shot inside a Roebuck home early Thursday morning. The boy was transported to Children's Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.
