Pinson Valley's Bo Nix Nominated For National Award
Bo Nix is one of five finalists across the country for USA Today's Offensive Player of the Year Award.

PINSON, AL - As if winning back-to-back state titles was not enough, Pinson Valley quarterback Bo Nix may take home some more hardware before his senior year is finished. Nix is one of five finalists for the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year.
The five finalists for 2018-19 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Offensive Player of the Year, along with Nix, are:
- Eric Gray, Lausanne Collegiate (Memphis, Tenn.), RB
- Puka Nacua, Orem (Utah), WR
- DJ Uiagalelei, St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.), QB
- David Bell, Warren Central (Indianapolis, Ind.), WR
Nix finished the season with 3,496 passing yards and 48 touchdowns to go with six rushing touchdowns. He became the first player in AHSAA history with more than 12,000 career yards of total offense and also set a new AHSAA career record with 161 touchdowns - 34 rushing and 127 passing.

Nix led the Indians to a 26-17 victory over Saraland in last week’s Class 6A championship game, throwing for 306 yards and two TDs and running for another.

The winner will be announced on December 19th. Finalists were selected by the USA Today High School Sports staff based on performances and coach and scouting analyst recommendations.
