Alabama Reports 23 COVID-19 Deaths In 24 Hours
Tuesday, Alabama added 23 COVID-19 deaths to its total, as the 14-day case total passes 9,000.
MONTGOMERY, AL — The Alabama Department of Public Health has confirmed 23 deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The state reports 854 deaths from the virus statewide, up from 821 deaths reported Monday.
The rise in COVID-19 deaths in the state comes during a 14-day stretch that has seen more than 9,000 cases of the virus confirmed in Alabama. The state now has the second most cases per capita in the country.

Six of Tuesday’s deaths were in Montgomery County, which has led the state in total cases for more than a week, although the county's death total is at 85 residents.

- Montgomery County: 6 deaths
- Tuscaloosa County: 4 deaths
- Cullman County: 2 deaths
- Walker County: 2 deaths
Total, Alabama has confirmed 30,670 cases of COVID-19, and has administered 353,611 tests for the virus since March 13, and 9,062 of the cases reported have been in the last two weeks.
The ADPH says 15,974 patients have presumably recovered from the virus.
