LEE COUNTY, AL — A lee County judge has dismissed kidnapping charges against one of the suspects in the disappearance and death of 19-year-old Aniah Blanchard of Homewood. An Alabama Media Group report said the charges against Antwon Fisher were dropped at the prosecutor's request Tuesday.

Fisher was accused of helping Ibraheem Yazeed — who has been charged with kidnapping and murdering Blanchard — by disposing of evidence and providing transportation to Yazeed during the kidnapping.

“The investigation has since revealed that Fisher was not present during the commission of the principal offense,” Assistant District Attorney Garret Saucer said in the al.com report. “Fisher’s conduct is akin to that of a common-law ‘accessory after the fact’ which has been made a separate offense entirely.”

Blanchard was reported missing Oct, 23, and was found dead in Macon County a month later. Yazeed has been charged with kidnapping and capital murder in the case. Charging documents against Yazeed said he was witnessed "forcing Blanchard into a vehicle against her will and then leaving with her in the vehicle."

A memorial service for Blanchard is scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m. at Faith Chapel in Birmingham.
