BIRMINGHAM, AL — This week, the Alabama Legislature was in session and a committee approved a significant bill to move forward, that has local significance, in that it has been dubbed "Aniah's Law," after Homewood murder victim Aniah Blanchard. The bill reforms the bail system in the state, preventing violent criminals from getting our on bail.

Also this week, Hoover police discovered a mail fraud scheme making its rounds through the community.
