Arrest Made In East Birmingham Shooting

A man has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of Tommy Brown July 24.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An arrest has been made in the July 24shooting death of 49-year-old Tommy Brown. The incident occurred in the 8200 block of 4th Avenue North.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said 27-year-old Nicholas Miranda of Mulga was arrested and charged with murder. The preliminary investigation suggests that Brown was involved in an altercation with Miranda prior to being shot. Miranda reportedly fled the scene.

Miranda is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail on $100,000 bond.
