Arrest Made In New Year's Day Homicide: Birmingham PD

Birmingham police have made an arrest in the death of Carl Misenrendino III, the city's first homicide victim of 2021.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An arrest has been made in the New Year's Day slaying of Carl Misenrendino III. Misenrendino was Birmingham's first homicide victim of 2021.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said 22-year-old Issiah Williams White has been arrested and charged with capital murder. WHite was arrested Thursday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Mauldin said.

Misenrendino was found just after 9 p.m. Jan. 1 lying unresponsive near a residence at 4040 40th Ave. North. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
