Arrest Made In Underwood Park Homicide
A man has been arrested in the murder of Raven Swain, who was shot and killed in Underwood Park in July.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Police have made an arrest in the homicide of 24-year-old Raven Swain, who was shot and killed in her car in Underwood Park July 27. Police arrested Solomon Minatee III Monday and charged him with murder.
Swain was shot while in the driver's seat of her car, and witnesses said they saw a man fleeing the scene on foot with a gun in his hand. Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said a capital murder warrant was obtained Monday for Minatee, and he was taken into custody Monday afternoon.
Swain's was the 59th homicide in Birmingham in 2020, and was the second of the day July 27, after the murder of Joe Albert Foster IV in Ensley.
