Birmingham Among Most Dangerous Cities In America: Study
A recent study shows Birmingham ranked among the five most dangerous cities in the country.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Although Birmingham is trying to shed the image of a city with high crime and poverty, a recent study shows that the Magic City has a long way to go, as Birmingham ranked fourth among cities considered to be the most unsafe in the country.
The study by personal finance website WalletHub recently conducted the study to determine where Americans can feel most protected against life’s hazards, including nonphysical forms of danger. WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities across 42 key metrics.
The data set ranges from COVID-19 cases in the past seven days per 100,000 residents and assaults per capita to the unemployment rate and road quality.
